Xanax belongs to the benzodiazepine class of drugs, which are prescribed by physicians to help people suffering from anxiety and panic disorder. Xanax is an extremely addictive substance that, when abused, can cause a variety of problems. Most individuals who become addicted to Xanax are attracted to the calming feelings it creates. Regular Xanax abuse can lead to physical tolerance, which means that the individual requires more and more of the drug in order to achieve the same high or sense of calm. When the body becomes physically dependent upon this substance, abruptly discontinuing or decreasing the amount used can lead to the development of withdrawal. Xanax withdrawal is a serious situation and should be done at a residential Xanax addiction treatment center such as ours. If not handled properly certain complications can result in death.
Our nationally recognized rehab center has helped many individuals overcome their Xanax addiction. Our multidisciplinary treatment center team will help guide you past your addiction and help you learn to live a new and sober life.

Types of Xanax addiction treatment offered at The Refuge, A Healing Place
When you arrive at our residential Xanax addiction treatment center, you will undergo complete medical and psychological evaluations to determine your needs and what is necessary for your rehab plan. The results of our medical evaluation will uncover any medical complications related to your Xanax abuse while the results of our psychiatric evaluation will allow us to determine any co-occurring disorders and other challenges you are facing. The combined results of these evaluations will be used to create a plan of care for your stay with us.
If the evaluation determines that you are physically dependent on Xanax, you will go through the detoxification process before beginning any therapeutic techniques. During the detox process, we will provide around-the-clock monitoring as the Xanax and other substances are removed from your body. Only when you are medically stable can you begin the recovery process.
Medication may be part of the treatment center plan in the beginning of your stay with us in order to help ease unpleasant withdrawal symptoms or to help control the symptoms of an additional disorder. The decision to use medication will be based on recommendations from your rehab team and all medication usage will be closely monitored.
Individual therapy is often used for individuals battling addiction, in order to give them time to focus on the underlying reasons for the development of their addiction and other topics of concern. Through one-on-one therapy, we will work with you to help you develop coping skills, identify ways to prevent relapse and other life skills.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a technique designed to help you focus on how your thinking affects your behavior. We will work with you to help you identify your negative thought patterns and learn how to correct them so you can see the world in a better light. By changing your negative perceptions into more positive ones, you’ll be able to see the world more appropriately and positively change your behavior.
Group therapy will provide you with the opportunity to connect with others who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction so that you can support each other. Process-based groups are used to allow you to process your emotions about a given topic, such as addiction. Psycho-educational groups are designed to teach you more about your illness, recovery, and co-occurring disorders.
Family therapy: Addiction is a disease that affects the entire family so our rehab center highly encourages the involvement of family members in your treatment. Family sessions allow loved ones the chance to share their feelings about your addiction and the ways it has impacted their lives. Additionally, we will help to educate your loved ones about addiction and ways in which they can help the recovery process.
